Thanks to the diligence of archaeologists, these objects were discovered in locations such as Zadar, Nin, Starigrad near Velebit, and Asseria near Benkovac. Among them you will find not only everyday vessels, but also impressive jugs and objects of unusual shapes, such as vessels in the form of fish.
More Than an Exhibition – Workshops, Library and Shop
During a visit to the museum, guests have the opportunity to delve into the secrets of glassmaking techniques, observing the tools used to work this delicate material. The Museum of Ancient Glass is not focused solely on its exhibition. Across an area of 2,575 square metres there is a specialist library, where enthusiasts of the history of glass art can deepen their knowledge. In addition, for those who wish to take part in workshops, the museum offers a glassblowing studio. After a fascinating journey through the world of ancient glass, visitors also have the chance to soak up the atmosphere of the museum's conference hall and purchase original souvenirs in the shop.
The museum's storerooms still hold a further 2,000 glass objects. Across its 2,575 square metres, the Museum of Ancient Glass in Zadar offers, in addition to its exhibition rooms, a specialist library, a conference hall, a glassblowing workshop and a souvenir shop.
