Parking in Zadar – a practical guide
Parking in Zadar, especially at the height of the tourist season, can turn out to be time-consuming and exhausting. Below you will find some information that will help you park your car close to the centre without risking a fine or having it towed away.
There are 4 designated paid parking zones in Zadar, and the cost of parking per hour or per day depends on the date.
Detailed information can be found on the website of the company “Obala i Lučice”, which manages the car parks.

The map also shows, among others, the monitored Garage – a multi-storey car park located about 500m from the city centre, which in the season (1.6–30.09) costs 1.33 EUR, and in the remaining months 0.53 EUR.
There are also several places in the city where you can leave your car free of charge (map below), all year round:
- The RAVNICE car park – Marka Marulića street, about 600m from the old town. The car park is very busy and there are usually no free spaces.
- The car park by the police station – on the corner of Bana Josipa Jelačića and Domovinskog rata streets, 1.2 km from the old town. A large car park where you can almost always find a free space.
- The car parks at the VIŠNJIK sports centre – V1 and V2 at a distance of about 1.4 km and V3 1.9 km from the old town. Large car parks, practically always with free spaces.

Parking fines and vehicle towing
Drivers who do not pay for parking, or exceed the parking time, will find a fine behind their windscreen wiper; the car will not be towed away.
Everyone who parks their car in a prohibited place or in a place designated for disabled drivers must reckon with having their car towed away. The service that keeps order works extremely actively and effectively, so be very careful about where you leave your vehicle!
If, on your return, you do not find your car in the place where you left it, it has most likely been taken to the towing services' car park, where all the cars of careless drivers are impounded. It is located about 600m from the old town.

There are also more and more mobile apps available through which we can make payments. We don't want to suggest any of them here, but if you have your own tried-and-tested ones that could be useful to others, let us know.
