Although we have been living in Zadar for over 11 years, we try to spend every free moment discovering this wonderful country. We decided to spend a beautiful, sunny Sunday on the island of Ugljan. This is an island that is only a 25-minute ferry ride away.
We start our expedition in Zadar, where we sail from the port of Gaženica to the town of Preko on the island of Ugljan. Even though winter is in full swing, we enjoy beautiful, typical spring weather. After just a few minutes, we can admire the beautiful panorama of Zadar with the majestic Velebi mountain range in the background. We plan to return just before sunset, so the route has been planned to catch the afternoon ferry. In front of us are about 40 kilometers of road leading through small fishing villages, olive groves with the indispensable breathtaking view of the blue surrounding us.
The island of Uglan is the closest to Zadar and can be reached by ferry from the port of Gaženica.
